This is the location of the multi storied McCallister house, which serves at the playground for Kevin’s creative home defense traps. The Murphy house, where the mouthy young Mitch Murphy lives is also located nearby at 656 Lincoln Avenue. The filming for ‘Home Alone’ took place both on location and on set in a number of venues across the state of Illinois, including Chicago, Winnetka, Highland Park, and Oak Park. Principal photography began in February of 1990 but was wracked with production issues after distributor Warner took issue with the film’s ballooning budget.

They may be wonderful people for all I know, but on this show they come across as self-involved, condescending and fake. At least Mark used to balance Debbie's contrived and narcissistic personality. But now with Cameron co-hosting it's a like a challenge to see whose star shines brighter, even at the expense of their guests. I understand Paige Davis had her issues, but methinks they "fixed" the wrong problem.
The region has also served as a filming location for several other high profile Hollywood movies including ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’, ‘Ocean’s Twelve’, ‘Meet the Parents’, and ‘Sixteen Candles’. The episode starts with everyone sitting around chatting. I have Debbie Matenopoulos on one side laughing and whispering. Dina Manzo and her pup Gracie on the other side making comments… just like it would be if we were all sitting around in real life without cameras!

Kym has her beauty secrets and LZ hits fashion. Guest from Hallmark movies and series as well as other special guests from other walks of life add to the show. The best part is that the show is family friendly and there is no talk of politics. We have been watching the reruns and remember most of them from last year. Can't wait for new episodes to start once production kicks back in. In the meantime, I have also been watching the 'at home' segments.

I agree with some of you, the hosts were sometimes annoying, however they don't deserve to be cancelled. Most of the time they were quite enjoyable, entertaining and kept the show moving along. Hallmark, please reconsider and return production of this show.

Mark Steines is one of the worst hosts I think I've ever seen. Between his false modesty, his cutting, underhanded remarks, and his fragile ego that Christina constantly works to salvage, I find myself sore from cringing. One morning, a crew member was climbing a hill near the set for exercise.
But there are some of us who don't need the political jabs and just want enjoyable non-confrontational morning TV with people who seem, well, nice. For season 3, the production team set up camp in and around the Vancouver Art Gallery, where they filmed at the 1931 Gallery Bistro and the north and south plazas. They also use a sound stage in the city of Langley, which was formerly a retail space. Lastly, famous local spots like Granville Island and Deep Cove feature in the backdrop of many scenes. The primary filming location for ‘Home Alone’ is located over at 671 Lincoln Avenue in the charming village of Winnetka in Cook County, north of Chicago.
Debbie and Cameron feed off each other so well. DIYs with Orly, Ken, Maria, Ali, and Paige are great. The support of Hallmark on pet adoptions is marvelous.
Guests are usually "B listers" but that is definitely OK. Most "A listers" come off as self-important jerks. I just watched the Home & Family Christmas special that debuted last night (11/23) and so many people broke into tears talking about the families and keeping it real on so many levels - nicely done.
