No matter what type of house you have constructed, whether it’s conventionally sized or tiny, you’ll pay on average between $100 and $200 per square foot. So, we decided to put the shed up for sale on a whim, and got several different types of people interested in it. Some people liked the privacy of the land, others liked the tininess of the house. Some were attracted to the option of living in the tiny house and then building later.

It has 768 square feet of space for $14,156.00, $18.43 a square foot. The next biggest thing is paying the house off. The land and property build cost around $435,000 and we did get a loan for some of it. We're trying to make double mortgage payments each month, so hopefully we will pay it off in 15 years or less.

How much does it cost to build a 200 sq ft tiny house?
It's just the three of us, we don't need a huge space. Our builder said we have the perfect land for a basement, but we don't need one. We liked minimal living in the camper and the tiny house shed, so even though this is the dream house, we still wanted to keep it practical.
Our Classic Manor New Day CabinThis is the side of our Classic Manor New Day Cabin. There is about two feet between it and the log cabin. The three that are the least expensive still give you a lot of storage for under $15,000.

In fact, many say it's a way for the outdoors to become an extension of your home. What the tiny home may lack in space, it can make up for in quality of life and connection to nature. Our Classic Manor New Day Cabin has 8 windows that open, double glass doors, the porch, vents on both ends and a roof vent that runs the whole roof. He turned out to be a guy my husband went to school with and he offered us a really good price to hang sheetrock.
The Tuff Shed brochure lists a lot of available upgrades. Not all upgrades are available on all sheds. We bought the Classic Manor New Day Cabin and finished it inside to make an office and workshop.

With the upgrades we had to get, the shed was about $27,000 but in total it cost $60,000 to complete our tiny house. You probably couldn't build the same tiny house for $60,000 now. The goal with the shed was to live in it for a few years and build our dream house on the same property, and then the shed was going to be a suite for our families to stay in. Like any major home purchase, the shift to tiny home living comes with trade-offs and adjustments. Here’s what you need to know about the benefits and costs of giving the Home Depot tiny house a try.
