Lisa returns for a guest appearance four years later, having become fully qualified; and applies for a job at Detroit Memorial Hospital. Al also has a brother, Cal, who looks and dresses almost exactly like him, though he is a physicist ("Sisters and Brothers"). In the episode commentaries featured on the Season 1 DVD set, the executive producers reveal that "Cal" was a fan from Texas who sent his photo in a fan letter. Upon seeing his resemblance to Al, the producers brought him in to be Al's brother, Cal.
During adolescence, Mark began to adopt a more goth look and an anti-establishment kind of attitude, the cause of which was founded in his feelings of social isolation. While Mark's darkening demeanor worried Tim and Jill on several occasions, it never turned into anything extremely destructive, although a homemade horror movie he created was a bit more twisted than they expected. Mark enjoys film production and music, took karate and pilot training, and becomes a proficient cook. During the early seasons of the show, Mark is seen in a Cub Scout uniform without badges. Marcus Jason "Mark" Taylor (Taran Noah Smith) – Mark is the youngest and most sensitive of the three boys.
Plot details and storylines
In the episode, "Fifth Anniversary", it is revealed that a big reason why Al was chosen to be Tim's assistant was because Al was the only assistant applicant that was willing to work for the salary that was offered. Despite the bad blood between Allen and Thomas, it was apparently put behind them by 2013 when Thomas was a guest star on the first of four episodes of Allen's show "Last Man Standing," in addition todirecting three episodes. Don't take this as the sign of a comeback, though — Thomas has once again receded from the public eye, being photographed for the first time in years in 2021. While some of the actors from "Home Improvement" have gone on to star in other television shows and movies, others left the spotlight after the series ended.
Dunning was probably best known as Louise, the “Run for the Border” girl in a bunch of Taco Bell commercials. She had also appeared in an episode of Married … With Children and in the movie Dangerous Curves. Mark Taylor is the youngest and often the victim of pranks and jokes but he goes goth in the later seasons which was… interesting. Tim ‘the tool man’ Taylor – the accident-prone patriarch, who spends his time working in his garage on a gorgeous hot rod, or filming his Tool Time program, or just tossing the pigskin with his boys in the yard. Allen was a slapstick genius in this show, whether losing control of a power saw or getting electrocuted by basically anything, it was always fun to watch him get hurt.
Pamela Anderson: Now
Tim always thinks things need "more power" and is often seen wearing sweaters from Michigan-based colleges. He is also very connected to his tools, even once joking that when he dies he would like to be buried with them. While Tim has a very good relationship with his wife, he is quick to admit defeat in any conflict they become engaged in. He also works hard to maintain healthy relationships with his three sons, although he relates more closely to Brad than Randy or Mark. This is where most people remember Hindman, as Bob Reid in nearly 500 episodes of that popular soap opera from 1975 to 1989. Drug trafficking, arrested in a Michigan Airport with 1 pound ½ of cocaine.
Taylor's "arch enemy", so to speak, is the real-life home improvement specialist, Bob Vila. One episode sees Tim competing against Bob Vila in a lawnmower contest for charity. Tim installs a jet engine on his machine, which results in Tim causing unintended chaos and destruction. Tim hosts a home improvement show called Tool Time with his co-host and friend, Al Borland. While Al is his co-host, Al constantly must remind Tim of safety regulations and practices.
Movies / TV
Wilson was married at one point, but his wife Catherine died long before the series begins (in a November 1994 episode, Wilson revealed that month would have marked his and Catherine's 25th anniversary). Prior to being cast as the Taylor family middle child, Jonathan Taylor Thomas (or JTT to the hormonal 14-year-old girls of the ’90s), was cast as the son of Greg Brady in a short-lived Brady Bunch spin-off called The Bradys. In 1994, Thomas terrifically voiced young Simba in Disney’s The Lion King. Then he began starring in some live-action films, highlighted by his Tom Sawyer in 1995’s Tom and Huck, and then in 1998, he starred in the fun holiday film, I’ll Be Home For Christmas. Since then, Anderson has done a bit of everything, including finding herself in the tabloids on more than one occasion.
From movie and television roles to her charity work with the Pamela Anderson Foundation, Anderson has stayed quite busy over the years. Now, she's trying a few new things, including a 2022 Broadway debut in the musical "Chicago" and a Netflix deal to tell her life story. It's hard to remember a time when Tim Allen wasn't a household name in both movies and television, but when "Home Improvement" premiered in 1991, he wasn't well known outside of standup comedy. By the time "Home Improvement" went off the air in 1999, Allen had become a household name, thanks to the wildly popular television series, as well as his roles in family favorites like "The Santa Clause" and "Toy Story." Arguably the most famous name to come out of Home Improvement, the Playboy model and animal rights activist left the sitcom after two seasons to star in Baywatch, the show that put her on the map. Today, the 49-year-old actress is the proud mom of two sons with ex Tommy Lee, 20-year-old Brandon and 18-year-old Dylan; recently put out a photo book, Raw; and most recently appeared in the Argentinian film The People Garden.
Because of his longstanding career, you'd be forgiven if you remember him best in another role other than his time on "Home Improvement" as Harry. Clark appeared as Harry the hardware store owner in 23 episodes of "Home Improvement" beginning in 1994 and has continued to rack up roles since the series ended. After "Home Improvement," Dunning took a bit of a break from television, in part to raise her three children. In 2017, she returned to television as the host and executive producer of "Debbe Dunning's Dude Ranch Roundup" on RFD-TV. In the series, which saw its third season premiere in 2021, Dunning travels around to dude ranches across the country to tell their stories. While Allen appeared in a few other films after "Home Improvement," it was reprising his roles in those two film franchises that kept him busy through the early 2000s.
Harry has four sons, including Dennis , with whom he has a somewhat rocky relationship, but they reconciled. In another episode, he suffered a heart attack while mentioning his service in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War . Lisa – Binford's first "Tool Girl." A secondary cast member on Tool Time, Lisa's job was to introduce Tim and Al and to hand them any tool they requested. When Pamela Anderson chose to leave Home Improvement to pursue a role on the syndicated series Baywatch, she was written out of the series after the second season; it was stated that Lisa was training to be a paramedic.
Tim often ignores Al's advice and this frequently results in an accident. His Wilson was one of his final roles, being a longtime smoker, Hindman was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and died that year at the age of 61. Jill Taylor is a great mom and is often seen as the voice of reason to her husband – even if that sometimes ends up in arguments. Originally, Frances Fisher was cast as Jill Taylor but while rehearsing the pilot, audiences reacted poorly, saying her Jill was too serious. She was replaced with Richardson four days before the pilot episode was taped. Before being cast as oldest son Brad on Home Improvement, Zachery Ty Bryan worked primarily in print and television advertising.
After going off the air in 1999, most of the cast continued acting and guest-starring in shows, while others left the spotlight for good. Since his days as a teen heartthrob in the '90s, Jonathan Taylor Thomas's acting career has slowed considerably. He has 118 IMDb television and movie acting credits to his name as of this writing, beginning in 1980.
After making a name for himself as a stand-up comedian, Tim Allen got his first big break when he was cast as the leading man in Home Improvement. The show was an instant hit, propelling him to superstardom during its eight-season run. Allen would go on to landmajor movie roles in the Santa Clause and Toy Story franchises, as well as appear on many other television shows over the years.
After the series ended, Karn continued acting, mostly in one-off roles on television shows and TV movies before co-starring in the 2009 series "Ctrl" as Arthur. The sitcom about a family man who hosted his own home-improvement show called "Tool Time" became one of the most-watched series of the '90s. It helped launched the careers of several actors, including a couple of child stars.
After Home Improvement, Bryan had a number of small spots in television shows like Veronica Mars and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Recently, in addition to playing Thor in a SyFy TV movie called Hammer of the Gods, Bryan’s focus seems to be on producing. The 65-year-old actress continued to find success on TV, starring as Dr. Andy Campbell on Strong Medicinefrom 2002 through 2005.
